How should I study?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
lol I'm sure everyone on this forum aims for a 25+. Browse through this forum and read the threads of breakdowns for ppl with high AA and TS scores and you will get a good idea of what u need to prepare. Good luck with your dat goals

I need to get over 25 each sections. How shoukd I study?

Well you should aim for 30's and if you F... UP just a tiny little bit, you may end up with all 25+'s.

La DATélisse is compilation of DAT breakdowns where you could conceivably find a recipe for straight 30's 🙂

Keep in mind that this forum is a place where you can find excellent information on how to improve the rest of your application in case you 'Plan A' doesn't come to fruition.

Good luck!!

Good luck! It's always better to aim high. I was actually aiming for a 30 when I took mine 🙂 haha

In all seriousness, this is just such a hefty goal and you're setting yourself up for failure. When it comes to getting super high scores, I really do think that luck plays some role in it. I don't think that different versions of the test are necessarily harder than others, but you may or may not receive a version of the DAT that strongly correlates with the things you managed to retain through your studying.
There's no reason not to aim for really high scores. A 25 in everything, though, would just be astronomical. I studied 3 months for 4.5 hours a day and didn't do it, and I don't know that I've ever seen anyone on this site who was able to pull it off. Sure, getting scores of 25+ in a few sections is doable, but in everything? I think you're going to let yourself down unless you're Einstein. Make reasonable goals. 🙂 For example, even a goal of achieving a 25 AA is much more reasonable in my opinion. That gives your some wiggle room--you can max out in the subjects you really love and do a little bit worse in the subjects that you aren't so crazy about. For me, the subject I wasn't so crazy about was QR, and I made a 21. I also made a 21 in reading, which honestly was a real shock to me (I normally score very highly on reading tests); my version of the reading section is one of the reasons why I think luck does come into play! 🙂 I still managed over a 25 AA, though, even with these two scores.
You can read my breakdown and I'm always willing to answer questions! Also, the la datélisse thread is a golden resource that smurf has put together. Read through all of the breakdowns and piece together a study schedule for yourself.

Well it's not impossible, but you're aiming for the 99.9 percentile.

My 26 was 99.9th, but I know it varies from test to test.

Anyhow, BEST OF LUCK!

I studied 10 hrs/day for a month having taken most pre-reqs.

Your best bet is to just study in the summer with all the prep material out there.
