Hi,
just wondering how step 2 ck is viewed in regards to ranking, I just finished my last interview today, got about 10-12 interviews at fairly well ranked program, only prob is my step 2 ck went down by like 10 points from step 1(202), how does that affect me, I have been asked a couple of times during the trail about my step 2 ck and tell them and had it faxed over to those who asked, my dean just told me to tell them if they ask, but should I just fax it over to those who ask or release to all.thanks

I'd probably just fax it over to those that ask.

I took step2 early and did considerably better on that then step one and it seemed at one point in my residency that that may have worked in my favor (one of the chiefs remarked on my score.) So even though I was always told that the step 2 score doesn't matter that much since not everyone has taken step 2, it is one more piece of information about you and they probably do consider it.

My feeling is if they are not asking for it, and the information is otherwise not required (I am assuming that's true) and it's something that doesn't strengthen your application - why provide it?

note I was not a resident in physiatry but I think it might hold in general.

It's not really important once you're into the interview stage. It's more of a screening tool, especially if the step1 score is low.
