A few years ago I volunteered for Ironman Korea. I hosted an athlete at my house, took him around, provided food, rides, work-outs, etc. I also worked, and he isnt a kid, so I didn't devote 24 hours of the day to him.

How would you assign hours to such a situation? Should I only include the time I was actively with him even though he was a guest in my house for nearly a week?

Thanks for your thoughts.

Logically, it wouldn't make sense for schools to audit your hours for every thing you list... they just don't have enough time. That being said, I imagine they would expect you to be able to describe the details of what you did if they had any questions regarding a specific EC/Job/etc during your interview. I would think that it is pretty easy for adcoms to evaluate whether you are exaggerating your hours based on how you respond in an interview. Answer/report accordingly.

I have not been interviewed yet but everything I've read and heard from SDNers, advisors, friends that have interviewed have said something along these lines. If anyone knows otherwise, please feel free to correct me.
