How can one avoid Gunners? Any strategies?

I would expect that this is not the forum to be in if you are trying to avoid gunners. It seems as if there are many highly motivated people with numbers many would kill for residing in these forums.

Just because someone has high numbers, doesnt mean they are gunners.

I was not implying that...however, it seems like most of the people I have come into contact with that i would classify as gunners have had really good stats. I was not trying to imply that all people with high numbers were gunners, hope I didn't offend anyone.

The best thing to do is ignore them. From my personal experiences with "gunners", most of them are just trying to draw attention to themselves and make them appear better than everyone else. This only works if other students react to them. If everyone ignores them, they will have failed and hopefully lose their gunnerlike qualities.

Don't worry - gunners clump up and gun each other. If you're laid back, relaxed, and competent, you'll find yourself a happy bunch to hang with.

Just think to yourself: This person is so obsessed with getting good grades so that they can get a high GPA so that they can apply to the most prestigious med schools so that they can get the most competitive residencies so that they can get the best practice so that they can make the most money so that they can roll around in it and live in their greed.

Gunners make me sick, but it helps just to realize what their mindsets are and see how great it feels not to be like them. 👍

Why do you need to avoid them? Be friends with whoever you choose. I feel the only ones who need to avoid them are ones themselves. I never met any while in college, cause I was too busy partying, do the same ...

Hmmmm...takes practice. I've been honing my gunner avoidance skills since grade school. I can now smell a gunner from 100 yards. One whiff is all I need. Makes avoidance real easy. They all let out a similar, pungent odour. Makes it easy to pick one out once you know what to look for. Go ahead try it. You'll soon be avoiding gunners like the Olsen twins avoid, well, food really. (sorry, couldn't come up with a better analogy-it's pretty late).
