As i watch some of Chad's videos I realize that are certain things that are in my regular DAT review book that aren't mentioned in Chad's videos. Particularly some O-chem reactions are not covered. My question is should chad's videos be used only as a supplement to other more extensive study materials or are the subjects not covered on Chad's chem and ochem review videos not heavily tested on the DAT.

I'm going through each video and taking notes.

Each additional study resource will have separate notes, and I may compile them together later on. I don't think it really matters how many different notes you have, as long as all the information is there.

Also, if you find some repetition between resources, still write it down...repetition causes you to retain information, never a bad thing.

I purchased the videos about two weeks ago for a refresher on gen chem. In my opinion use the videos to take notes on and to get a refresher on the material. After I watched the videos for gen chem I dove right into the destroyer. So to your question, yes I would use it as a supplement to other more extensive study material. Chad does a good job but there are a lot of things that he does miss, particularly on some of the equations needed.

I'm just curious do you have the destroyer? If not I highly recommend it

Chad's videos aren't meant as a substitute for reviewing the sciences, practice questions, or practice exams.

The primary purpose of those videos is to give students an accelerated (most of it should be somewhat familiar) understanding of concepts in a short time, so they can strengthen the understanding of those concepts via review books, questions etc.

You should focus on understanding the concepts Chad presents, because that will allow you to understand what he didn't get a chance to cover.

In terms of whether what he didnt cover, and if is heavily tested or not, it makes most sense to cover your bases since there's no way of telling what version of the DAT your going to get.

But in a sense, yes, Chad covers most of what you'll see.

sorry for the long response lol, but I talked to Chad about how to best use the videos so I thought i'd share. gl.

Yes I do have Destroyer but have not touched it because from my understanding it's mostly practice problems and I'm still in the early stage so reviewing material for the first time. Based on chad's response the gen chem vidoes seems to be thorough enough to cover the majority of the problems seen on the DAT. As far as o chem goes there are some reactions that are some reactions one would see on the DAT not covered in the videos. I've heard that the Destroyer roadmaps are pretty good for covering all the organic reactions needed, but I've also heard that there are certain reactions on the roadmaps that are not necessary/ not seen on the DAT. Anybody have experience with this?
