Hello,
I know someone probably asked this same question awhile ago, but I couldnt' find it.
I was scheduled to have an interview in January but have since been accepted at other schools. Do I cancel the interview and then withdraw my application in writing? Can I do both in the same letter?

Thanks.

Call the school and find out. For some schools, email is sufficient; others need it in writing.

if you have an interview call.

They will then sometimes ask for an e-mail or letter.

For all other schools (ones you dont' have an interview at) write a letter.

What about school where you recieved a secondary. I recieved a sec from a school and was going to fill it out and then got my MCATs back, not going to get me in there so, call or email, or just let it go.

Deciding not to return a secondary app is a different situation from cancelling an interview. You should be fine if you choose to just not turn it in, if you're sure your MCAT score disqualifies you from that school. After all, even if you turn it in and send in your money, there's no guarantee that the school will interview you, whereas the OP's situation involves a specific appointment in a time slot that could be filled by another applicant.

I just send a formal withdrawal letter to all the schools I withdraw from...although emails may be fine.

i sent an e-mail to get the info out quick and followed it up with a formal snail mail letter.

I just sent an email. No one seemed to care too much, which is sorta disturbing if there were any tech-savvy gunner premeds out there, who might do such a thing intentionally to screw others over.

I just called them.

univ ill chicago requires me to write a formal written request to withdraw.
