Given that Americorp pays a small stipend, how would one count a year spent as an Americorp member?

Would it be regarded as nonclinical volunteering? A job? Something else?

If it is at all like Peace Corps, it does not pay a living wage and is best categorized as "volunteer" rather than paid employment.

Were you (or will you be) paid a salary (with taxes and Medicare taken out) or a stipend (no taxes removed) which was/is barely enough to live on? I believe the latter is true, so you wouldn't strictly speaking be an employee. Whether you designate it as a job, a volunteer position (which it would widely be considered by adcomms), as Teaching, Clinical, or whatever, include "Americorp" in the title of the space so it's highlighted and easily notable.

I listed it as volunteering. Regardless of how you list it, adcoms will be familiar with AmeriCorps and understand what it means!

Back when I was in Americorps, we were paid min wage plus a stipend. If that is the case for your program, I would count it as paid.

Completely agree. I did AmeriCorps and as it does not pay a living wage (just a tiny stipend) and as it brands itself as a service organization, I categorized it as volunteering.
