I know, DOCTOR. You were also making 600 large. I'd love my job too.

During those years working for an AMC I wasn't making 600 large,

DOCTOR.

I had a ROKKSTARR GIG

before.

I have a ROKKSTARR GIG

now.

You're conveniently missing

THE MIDDLE

where I was essentially

PUNCHING A CLOCK.

FOR A CORPORATION THAT DIDN'T

GIVE A F U CK ABOUT ME.

And I was still HAPPY.

This New Gig I've acquired,

RIGHT TIME, RIGHT WORK ETHIC.😀

BTW YOU COULDN'T KEEP UP WITH ME MAN ON YOUR BEST DAY.

YOU SOUND BITTER DESPITE THE GREATNESS OF THIS SPECIALTY

JPP, I think you are an amazing poster and you contributions to this forum and site are pretty much unparalleled. I hesitate to go here and will try and do it while still showing my respect, but you are kind of portraying the "boomer" attitude that a lot of people in the younger generations have a problem with. "You are basically saying I did X and it led to Y and it worked great. Go do X." This doesn't really apply to rapidly evolving world we live in. Things change. Education, training, job, and MARKETS change.

Now, I don't know if it is as bad as Consigliere says it is (God, I hope not), but I do agree with him here that regardless of the accuracy of your impression/views, I think you have arrived at them in the wrong way. 10 years ago every biglaw partner was telling the 1Ls about what they made and how much they loved their jobs. Current 3L hiring scene is a goddamn apocalypse. Twice as bad as Consigliere describes the anesthesia market.

It seems you are basing your impression of the current job market for anesthesia as what it has been for you when that doesn't necessarily apply.
