I am currently a junior and I have a relatively good GPA (3.9 cumulative, 3.97 BCPM). I've always done really well in all of my science courses, but I've really been struggling this semester. I'm at the point where I'm panicking. The two classes I'm worried for are statistics (3 credits) and micro (4 credits). I'm currently taking 19. I'm honestly trying as hard as I can for these two classes, but the best I can pull out with micro is a low B on tests. And let's not even get started on my biostats. I just feel that I've lost all of my confidence. I would appreciate it if someone could list some coping mechanisms to deal with this sort of stressful situation or suggestions as to how to better the position that I'm in.

Same problem here, I can't drop either. I say just keep studying hard and ace the rest of the semester and the professors should throw some kind of curve at the end. No need to stress anymore because the more you stress the more you put yourself into a deeper hole. Go see the professor during office hours, get some tutoring, and start studying for an exam at least a week ahead of time.

It's hard for us to give concrete advice without some more details about why exactly you are struggling. That said, this is my advice: Most universities have some sort of study counseling service (usually run by the office of academic advising). Drop by and talk to them about your situation. They have probably seen this scenario multiple times before.

suck it up and move on. best coping mechanism you'll ever learn.

I had difficulty in biostats earlier this semester and didn't do so hot on the first test. For the second test I just did tons of practice problems and used khan academy and got an A on it.

As for micro I was in your same situation, I got a C on the first test and recognized what i did wrong. I read the book and did over 100 practice problems. I ended up getting an A on the next test. I dont know if your school uses it but masteringmicrobiology is a good tool to study with.

You just have to really buckle down and do practice problems...
