Hi all,
Can you please tell me how to do suboccipital inhibition and paraspinal inhibition? And what are the indications, contraindications? My school didn't teach us that and I keep reading about it on SDN. I've my test next week, so please help!

Dude, you just press and hold.

Or better yet, buy a copy of the Nicholas Atlas that explains the techniques.

http://www.amazon.com/Atlas-Osteopathic-Techniques-Alexander-Nicholas/dp/1451102453

Older versions work well and are cheaper.

As far as indications/contra it's mostly common sense (like a lot of things).

Thanks - but I have tried to look up the technique in that book but just cant find it - Can you tell which page #? please! or if you can just tell me how to do the technique exactly, that would work too - Thanks a lot in advance!

Suboccipital release: p86
94, 95, 96, etc contain pages that deal with paraspinal muscles.

Paraspinal inhibition is rib raising over the lumbar region minus the ribs, of course. Ugh, I'm glad I was around before Alex' new atlas came out, that's too expensive!
