How to find Step One Pass rate and Match rate?

If a school I'm interested in doesn't publish their Step One pass rates and Match rate, where can I find these? I've googled everything I can think of and can easily find this data for some schools that I'm not interested in...

Self reported data is not to be relied upon.
The definition of "pass rates" and average Step 1 scores can be defined in many ways.

Additionally, this is much more dependent on your own preparation vs what your school did for you, even though there is a nice correlation between preclinical performance and step 1 score

If it’s an established US MD school, I wouldn’t worry about it too much, most have high Step 1 pass rates and match rates.

Not really. Match lists are extremely subjective.

A caveat: trying to interpret match lists is like trying to read one of these:

Without the knowledge of whether or not a program is a good one, saying "oh look, they matched 4 people into Derm!" is a two edged sword. Many people want to go to, say, Boston or LA, but it doesn't mean that the Derm residencies there are good.

I do agree that the overall number of different specialties is informative.

The data points that are most striking on that list are the stellar performances of the students at the two LECOM campuses. Generally the best predictor of COMLEX and USMLE scores is the MCAT. However, the average MCAT score at LECOM for the 2018 entering class was a 503, which is simply the national average for D.O. matriculants. The Silverettis must be doing something right.

I would love to know how the LECOM students perform on the USMLE Step 1. When I was looking at residency programs for my daughter (because she asked me) I saw LECOM students at residency programs all over the eastern half of the U.S.

LECOM's current tuition is under $34,000. Nonresident tuition at MSUCOM is $87,000. A LECOM grad, at the end of a four year residency, would have about $300,000 less debt than an MSUCOM nonresident grad. I realize that some people could not bear to go to a medical school that resembles a Catholic high school from the 1950s with the dress code etc. but for the money you just can't beat LECOM's performance.

The best predictors our performance on nbme shelf exams, and pre-clinical GPA. Although the latter is now becoming more of a question mark because of the switch to pass fail curricula at a lot of medical schools

Here's a a link to a study of MCAT scores as a predictor of USMLE scores. Based on this study I wouldn't call the MCAT a weak predictor. However, I'll admit that it isn't perfect.

Each of the MCAT component scores was significantly associated with USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 CK scores, although the effect size was small.
There are other studies that say otherwise...overall, that the effect is weak, at best.

I wouldn't question that shelf scores are better than MCAT scores because the NBME administers the step exams and the shelf exams. Nevertheless, MCAT scores and step scores are linked to a degree and the success of LECOM students on the COMLEX is impressive given LECOM's much cheaper price and higher pass rates compared to a school such as Western COMP.
