One of the dentists I shadowed said that the facilities are the body of the school but the faculty are the soul. He pointed to the fact that you need world-class clinicians in the faculty, that you need personalities that will inspire you. Now.. my problem is, how would I find something like this out? Is there somewhere on the internet that lists world-renowned clinicians and even researchers in dentistry?

That's a very good question. You should ask your interviewer if he/she has a soul at the end of your interview.

lol that made me laugh.

to OP: All schools have great faculty, ask the students who attend them. I'm sure whichever school you go to, someone will inspire you. You can't gauge whether or not something/someone will affect you til you go there, everyone has their own preferences.

I usually ask my interviewer to dip their hand in holy water at the end of the interview. If they do not want to then you know that they probably don't. Good luck!

"The power of Christ compels you" "The power of Christ compels you" :barf:

Lol Let's focus more on the world class clinician part

Yahhhhhh Soul Patrol! Go Taylor Hicks. Such great feedback. Ramseszerg: You. Are. Welcome.

Some school websites have sections with teacher bios. The bios should explain the teachers accomplishments.

I really have no idea about this but I would sit back and observe if the professors are passionate about being apart of the University rather than collecting a paycheck. Usually the schools who have "soul" are those that adhere and truly believe in their mission whether it be "serving the undeserved" or "ect" and that is why he or she is teaching at the facility. It's difficult to gauge but you will know.

Well, get accepted (first), then attend, THEN you can find out for yourself if the school has a "soul".... Im afraid this is the only way someone can find out such subjective information.

What one finds inspirational and "soul-full".... others might find the same thing as profane and irritating.

I swear I'm in the same boat as you. One of my DS interviews was in this really dark room. I could hardly see a thing. What kind of person works in a pitch-black office, I wondered? It suddenly dawned on me that this was one of those anti-sunlight, soulless vampire dentists that I'd always heard about. I immediately reached for the blinds and pulled them apart.

Alas, the dentist started to scream and proceeded to shrink, right b4 my eyes. I pulled out my wooden stake (never leave home without it, folks) and drove it straight into his heart.

A rejection letter from that school recently arrived. Their reason: NOT A TEAM PLAYER 🙁
