My long term goal is a residency in Jackson Memorial. I'm from Miami and I love the city but I got rejected from Miller. I'm accepted at USF and waiting on UF, also waitlisted at Duke.
Which school would give me the best chance at getting a residency in Jackson?

The school that enables you to perform your best. I won't say that where you go to medical school has no bearing on your residency, but it doesn't begin to stack up against things like step 1 scores.

Out of curiosity, do you have a particular specialty in mind that Jackson is very good in? Because no medical center, anywhere, is equally strong in all residencies. I think people tend to think that any residency at UCSF (or similar places) is good, but that's not the case. If you really want to do peds and know that Jackon is #1 for peds, by all means go for it. But otherwise, your choice of residency program should be dependent upon your particular goals and what is considered a good program in your field.

I'm interested in Neurology and the program at Jackson was rated at #39 I believe in the US News Report

If it is ranked #39, then I would say your chances of getting in there are pretty good no matter where you go for med school. There are 120ish locations in neuro, and neuro is not that competitive. If you broke up different specialties into competitive, neutral, and non-competitive, then neuro would be put into the non-competitive bracket in my opinion. In 2007 approximately 300 U.S. MD students applied for approximately 500ish residency spots.
