Fall semester is coming up and I don't feel totally ready to tackle my 18 credit semester. I'm not lazy or unmotivated, I have great grades. It just feels different this summer then it did my freshman year because I know how college is now and just finished summer classes 2 weeks ago so I'm not in the same mode I was the summer right before freshman year. So, how do you guys get back into school mode?

Eat well, exercise, get to sleep at a reasonable time and get up at a reasonable time, and your energy will skyrocket. That energy will inevitably evolve into motivation - at least it has for me.

Drink.

But seriously.

I always start slow. My first week back to a semester, I usually get little to no reading/HW done. I just get acquainted with going to classes, get a feel for the initial material through lecture, etc. Week two is when it's time to kick it into high gear. So, I'm not sure how your brain works, but I personally take a week to ease into things if at all possible. Probably won't have the same luxury in medical school (besides orientation), and I know that. 🙂

Do absolutely nothing school related. If you're like me, you will actually feel bad about not doing anything and will experience a temporary work surge in the beginning of the year.
