I am at the DEA website. Is it the office of diversion control? It asks for business address and all that. What do I do since I need it for a working interview?

Dunno. I worked undercover for the DEA for a year or so. What are you looking for?

darn... you haven't done that ? It's a long process. First, you have to contact your state's department of public safety and ask for application for substance control certificate. Then, fill out the form and pay the fee and wait for 3-4 weeks. After you get that certificate with number then go DEA website and fill out another application and pay another fee to get your DEA permit. Have fun, there are more paperworks to fill out later on for insurances ...

Get your provider number first and then get DEA application.

Not every state requires you to file through them first. NC doesn't, for instance. Check with your state to see if you need to file through them first. The DEA fee for the govt is 550$.

When I called the DEA this past spring with a question about my application, the lady told me I had to have my state registration first. Granted, she's a government call center employee, so her word isn't exactly at the top of the Oxford scale.

Still, to the OP, you should make sure you understand the process so you don't waste time or money.

you need your state license first and I just used my home address. You can change the address with the DEA online after you get your number. Take a few weeks to a couple of months for everything, so plan accordingly.

Yeah bill that's how it is in many states, but some do not require that. In Ohio I would have needed that but in NC you can just go straight to the fed. It's worth looking into either way.
