I recently did an away rotation and asked the attending for a LOR and they told me to send them an email ( I'm guessing the link for them to upload it to my ERAS app). I haven't started the ERAS app how would go about doing that. Need some advice. btw I'm an IMG, so my so I think I would need a token to start the ERAS app how would I apply for that?

You seem very, very lost.

First, you need to start an ERAS application. You need to get your token from the ECFMG. You do that through their web based system called OASIS. The link is here: https://secure2.ecfmg.org/emain.asp?app=oasis

You'll use the same ID / Password in OASIS that you did for your USMLE Exams. If you haven't taken the USMLE, then you can stop worrying about applying for residency this year (since you'll need to take care of those first). Once you log in, there should be a choice to get an ERAS token. I believe they charge $100. Once you have the token, you can then start your ERAS application at the MyERAS site.

Once you've started your application, you can set up your LOR's. You can do that right away, and ocmplete your application later. Jump to the LOR tab, enter the information for the LOR (i.e. the Author name and title), and "finalize" the LOR slot. You'll now be able to print out (or create a PDF of) the LOR cover letter. That will have the LOR portal web address on it, and a specific code your letter writer uses to upload the letter.
