How to indicate continued interest to school that supposedly has yield protection?

Hi! There’s a school that I do quite want to attend that I applied to very early but have not received an interview at. I would love to have an interview at this school but I have heard that this school does have yield protection and my MCAT and GPA are quite outside the recommended averages of this school. My reasons for wanting to attend are mainly because the location is perfect for me plus they do have programs that align with my interests. Though there could be many reasons why they wouldn’t interview me, I think one possible reason is that they think I’d matriculate elsewhere but I genuinely do like the school. They didn’t have a “why xyz” question either so I couldn’t indicate to them I really liked them.

This school doesn’t accept updates. I don’t know what to do. Should I email them asking for permission to send a letter of interest? But their site explicitly says they don’t accept updates to the application except for very special circumstances. Since they should still have 1-2 more interview waves (as they had one today and supposedly go to April) I am just praying rn.

LizzyM if you would be willing to provide what your inputs are I would be extremely grateful. Thanks!

They are very clear and specific about it! So, I think they mean it.
Were you invited to do the secondary?

Yes I got a secondary. It wasn’t very long to be honest and had very short word count questions. So I probably shouldn’t send the letter of interest I would assume…but not sure how else I can demonstrate my interest if that matters ;(

You're too late. They don't want updates during your application process. Therefore the best time to reach out would have been before you applied.

All you will do is Telegraph that you either cannot follow simple instructions, or are a special snowflake who believes that the rules do not apply to you.

It is too late in the cycle for anything positive to happen and you should be working on your plan B.

This process isn't like dating. The school knew you were interested because you sent them an application.

I agree. It would have been helpful to have a face-to-face meeting with an admissions office representative at a "fair" or other event where admissions people meet with pre-meds.

Did you get an offer somewhere at this point?
