how to introduce yourself in CS

this is probably a dumb question, but anyway...in CS, should i introduce myself as a medical student or am i supposed to be pretending to be the patient's doctor?

Hmm, I introduced myself as a medical student and passed. However I did not get a star for professionalism, so I don't know. 🙄 I'm not a doctor, so I don't introduce myself as one. I don't think it really matters either way. Just be sure to actually introduce yourself.

Our proctors said you could introduce yourself as either "doctor" or "medical student" and it wouldn't matter.

The proctors will state multiple times during the exam that you may introduce yourself how you wish. I doubt the SPs would know or care either way.

Incidentally, I introduced myself as "Student Doctor [Name]," and I passed.

Use what makes you comfortable. =]

Doesn't matter. You'll see people wearing both.

I introduced myself thusly. "Hi Ms. Jones, I am tfom08, the medical student who will be taking care of you today. I will be taking your vitals and checking some bloodwork and then the doctor will be in to see you shortly." I checked BP's after all that, and got IV's on a couple of patients who were willing but most of them refused to give blood. The problem was when I took the collection tubes into the hallway to turn in with my patient assessment, the CS administration staff didn't know what to do with them. I actually got written up for testing irregularity (what's up with that?). I also did not pass the test, but I did ok in english competency section. I am planning on retaking the test, but will read First Aid so I know more about what to expect. I'm not exactly sure what the problem was last time, but I think I didn't do enough patient counseling.

It seems to have worked.. I passed.
