I am a qualified surgical pathologist and I am working at very small lab (not a lot of people to consult on case to case basis) .
I have read a lot but I often find myself wasting time on reading.
I lot of new editions of great books have maybe 5% new content and the rest is just reprint (rosai, Enzinger, Crum, biopsy interpretations book etc).

If i read journals it is often too cutting edge in the way that the information is not useful i daily practice.

My question is where to find new, up to date and clinical relevant information?
I use WHO blue books and USCAP courses, but what else?

For years I got the Oakstone “Practical Reviews” in pathology. At least that way I knew that anything of real importance would pass by my eyes. But my practice situation was pretty busy.

Im confused why is your time "wasted" on reading? I mean it could be...but isnt that "waste" below like watching Pornhub, Netflix, Disney+, playing World of Warcraft, flaming people on Facebook, posting conspiracy theories on QAnon, watching youtube videos of fat funny cats stumbling like idiots and telling your neighbor their yard looks great AND posting on SDN??

Just use google man. Seriously pubmed and google. read the most current articles on very specific topics for example today I googled mesothelioma vs. carcinoma IHC to get the most current list of the stupid X-12blahblah antibodies Im supposed to use to differentiate these entities.

I also popped into work, went to tumor board, grossed all my cases for the day and then sat in my hot tub by 11am and proceeded to work from home so YMMV but good luck.
