Destroyer says peroxide initiator + heat makes polymer.
Kaplan says R with lone pair electron(or mabe radical, i don't know what the dot implied) + heat + high pressure makes polymer.

Do I need to know both ways?
And do you guys know what the dot was implying next the R?

the dot is def a radical.. i would stick to knowing akane + R group (radical) heat/pressure gives you the polymer

both are the same

u start off w initation where you u create a radical monomer species.

then you have propagation where the radical monomer species attaches to another monomer species which results in a linked radical chain.

finally the polymerization is terminated when two radical chains connect to each other.

review ur org chem notes, im sure it's there somehwere
