So I was supposed to graduate at the end of this year (December '11). My college requires you to fulfill a foreign-language requirement. I was originally going to take a Spanish class this semester, but somehow I got shafted in signing up for the class and am on the waitlist - and it doesn't look like there is any way enough people will drop out for me to be enrolled.
I talked to a counselor and she said that I could just take the class at a community college in the Spring. Once I fulfill this requirement at the community college, my school would finally send me my diploma and I would have officially graduated.
So a couple of questions if you guys wouldn't mind:
1. Would this negatively affect my application? I'm guessing no because I still would have graduated (obviously) before matriculation. But I'm asking to get your opinions and to make sure.
2. How would I notify schools of this development in my application? Would I just call them directly and they would add a note to my file? Is that how this usually works for more unique situations such as these?
Thanks guys.
