Hi everyone, so finally I'm a 3rd year. I didn't want to specialize at all at first, but mostly during the past year I got very insterested in ortho and considering applying this year.
PASS is coming out in May. I'm watching my fellow classmates going off to oral surgery, pedo, proths, or perio externships whenever we have a break. And I'm just sitting around not doing much. I know ortho doesn't encourage externship or site vists (correct me if I'm wrong?) Then, can anyone please tell me what I'm supposed to be doing to possibly increase my chances? besides the regular stuff: keep the grades, boards, research, leadership, shadow private practice, take ortho electives.
Anyone else is thinking about ortho this year? Maybe we can team up and share thoughts & experiences and go through this together?
