I got an invitation for an interview. What should I do to prepare for it?

also, during an interview do they ask a lot of question about your work experience? the reason is I got only a few mons of pharm tech experience (volunteer for only few hrs a wk) so I am still new... I am worry that if they ask me about name of medicine and stuff I won't familiar about...

all suggestion for the interview are appreciate.

thanks all

You can stand in front of a mirror and try to interview yourselves, see your facial expressions when you answer. That's what I did and it got me 3 acceptances. You can't really know what questions each school/interviewer is going to ask, one time I was asked the color of a bottle of medicine. I guess you're supposed to know these since you work in a pharmacy, just try to pay attention when you work and you'll be fine.

This is in the Pre-Pharmacy FAQ

Here are some extra interview questions

Lastly, if it's a closed interview they won't bring up your work experience unless you do. It also depends on how you present yourself. If you convey that you've been working there for a while and that you think you know your stuff, they may ask you about your experiences and opinions, but if you explain that you are relatively new, but are learning and enjoying the experience, their questions will be adjusted for that. As for drugs, I don't think I've heard of any school ask about your knowledge of them.

Edit: just realized the interview feedback link in the FAQ is not really working so go here

A pre-med friend of mine interviewed each other with off the wall questions we could think of in order to practice being asked off the wall questions, and how we react and respond to them. I don't know if it helps you, but it does help showing how often you may say the "um" "uh" "der" fillers during a conversation.

If they ask you about a drug, it is perfectly acceptable to say I don't know. It's perfectly acceptable to say that after you've been a pharmacist for 20 years, much less for someone with very little experience. You'd just have to know where you would find the info when you're a pharmacist 😉 I've heard of very few interviewers who will ask a med question, but they don't expect you to know it. I'm not exactly sure why they ask those questions, but don't worry about coming up with an answer.

haha..yep. This passed weekend at Pittsburgh I was asked why some people with HPV get cervical cancer and some do not. I answered the question to the best of my ability, but the interviewer didn't really seem like he actually wanted a clear cut answer. I think they just want to see how you will react to a surprise question.
