Both interviews that I have attended have had writing components in them. I did not prepare for either and they were fine. The main point for the essay is to see that you can write on your own, bring ideas together, and make sense out of it all. The questions that they ask were simple and for my first one, the guy said that it really wasn't what you wrote but how you wrote it. They also look for grammer and spelling errors. For both, they were done on a computer so you have spell check so you shouldn't have spelling errors.
Also, writing is not my favorite thing to do, so I was nervous both times, but it really was not that bad. And I was accepted from the first school, so I must not have done that bad and I am waiting to hear back from the second school.
Hope this helps a little. Good luck!!
If you want to prepare, write a list of questions and have someone pick 2 of them, then write responses and time yourself. Key is being clear, concise, and organized.
I am not going to prepare for mine. It is probably similar to the PCAT essays- perhaps easier. Most people have said that it is very straight-foward and not very difficult. Don't worry. As long as you have good grammar/punctuation and write coherently, you should be fine.
last year on one of my interviews there was a writing part and I have no clue what to write. however, I did have a 1-page essay after 30 mins but not sure is that what they looking for.
i am little bit specific here.... even though this is not a topic I was given from my last year interview. for example, if they gave your a phrase:
"crime is a major issue in America....."
and ask you to write about this. what should you write about phrase like this? elaborate even more? clearly they not ask for a solution to the problem like the pcat essay...
