for those who have interviewed at MCO (Ohio) or Penn State, how much did you spend on your trip? Both schools are kinda in the middle of nowhere so flying into the nearest airport is very expensive.

The cheapest deal I got for MCO (Ohio) is $310 (flight). The cheapest deal I got for Penn State is $354 (flight). Those are pretty expensive prices considering I have been spending on average $220 on flight to rush and nymc.

Is it possible to fly into Detroit and take the train to Toledo?

Any help is appreciated. I am totally out of money this month. Thanks!!!!

i flew Delta to MCO, from SF to Toledo, with a stop in Atlanta (kind of out of the way, but whatever). cost me $250 round trip....it was my most expensive interview, because i usually fly jetblue or southwest....so a normal trip for me is between 180 and 220 round trip.

I know that MCO has a student host program, so you can definitely save some money on a hotel by staying with a student. As far as flying into detroit and taking a train, I'm not sure how feasible that is, I'd recommend checking the AMTRAK website for trains. It may end up being just about as expensive as flying into toledo though.
I'm from Michigan so I just drove down to toledo so I guess I don't really know all that much about whats the best way to fly in, but thats my 2 cents!

If you weren't planning on renting a car in Toledo anyways, its probably going to cost you as much to fly into Detroit and take the train or bus to Toledo. Public transportation in Toledo is somewhat lacking compared to other cities

Check into airfare on ATA's website into Toledo. ATA sometimes has some great sales on their website.
