After reading some of the Bio questions on the DAT forum, I'm starting to feel royally screwed; in my General Bio I course, we only covered up to the very BASICS of evolution. The last real "section" we did was on genetics (chromosomes, mitosis/meiosis, translation/transcription, etc.). Hell, we didn't even learn to identify any structures -- my teacher was one of those guys who seemed to put more of an emphasis on memorizing definitions. For example, I couldn't point out the parts of a phospholipid worth a crap, but I remember that there is a hydrophilic head pointing outwards, two hydrophobic fatty acid tails pointing inwards, one of them is saturated and the other is unsaturated, etc.
I'm not planning on taking the DAT until Summer 2008, but, dang...it sounds like I got a lesser-than-highschool course of biology. To make matters worse, my school doesn't even do Gen. Bio II; instead, they have a "Research Methods" class where you learn how to write science articles.
