How to study for each category of the DAT??

Hey Everyone,

So I am ready to start the process of studying for the DAT. I know there are many prep materials out there but I wanted to get your opinions on which materials are best for each section?

From what I heard:

PAT: Crack the DAT (ace or royal flush)

Science (bio, orgo, gen chem): DAT Destroyer, chad's videos

Reading: Crack the DAT? (i heard mixed reviews such as "too many tone questions")

Math: DAT Destroyer (maybe crack the dat??)

PAT: Crack the DAT (ace or royal flush)
Ace Edition is more than sufficient I did first five test as prep material and kept last five for practice...found it a little easy than real DAT..my DAT Key hole questions were a little closely matched than these tests. I also found the angle ranking the same.

Also Do Chad's angle ranking quizzes.

Science (bio, orgo, gen chem): DAT Destroyer, chad's videos
For Bio I just memorize Cliff's AP bio learn every single word from it. also looked at some of my bio notes and yet got some questions with terms I had no clue.

Used DAT destroyer to test my preparedness a good way to time your self...I always gave my self 5 less min than real DAT to factor in the exam anxiety.

ORGO and CHEM nothing but Chad's videos he is so awesome you will feel overconfident after his videos ....well worth the money ...do 90 day subscription I found 60 day's one too short as I reschedule my DAT to push it back two more weeks.

Then use Destroyer again to test yourself....timing is very important. don't worry about orgo when you get to question ..64...i think to 84s. (not sue but it was in the middle of Destroyer book)..you will feel like but trust your knowledge ..call Chad (discussion forum)..you will be fine towards the end.

This is the only section i did not prepare for so cannot tell you much ....but i read all health articles in yahoo..i had no strategy for this section but I am a fast paced reader so I skimmed every article quickly to see I can find what I am looking for ...people talk about search and destroy method but by the time I found it ...my exam was just a week away so I refrain from trying any thing new and stick to my plan.

MATH Destroyer...practice ...practice ...practice
Oh dear GOD ...is what I said when I got to this section...first reason ...I was tired and exhausted.

second reason: I DID NOT PREPARED WELL and NEVER TIMED MYSELF.

The questions were about the same level as Destroyer.

The DAT forum has all the advice you will ever need, check out some threads in there.


My advice is after some research, pick some materials and stick with them. Try to avoid changing your study plan around too much and instead master whatever material you chose to use.
