I'm starting to study for the DAT and I've realized that it's way different from any other test I've taken. I've just started and it seems like I'm already overwhelmed with information.
How do you guys advise studying for this test. I started out just reading materials from DAT books, starting with chemistry, which I already took. But as I go through it, I realize that I've forgot most of what I learned last semester. And if i continue reading, I'm sure to forget most of it again. Do you guys take notes when you guys read then go over the notes again? Do you guys make notecards? Are there any good prepared notecards I can buy?

A simple search of the forum will pull up plenty, good luck.

I go through the Kaplan DAT book (big blue or white book) and make notecards for each chapter. Then I review the notecards to keep the information in my head. For O-chem I write down generalized reactions over and over again to keep them in my head.

Don't look at all the sections at once, focus in on one area for a while. I went through general chemistry reading and making notecards, then organic reading and making notecards, and I'm finishing up biology right now. Then I'm going to to practice problems until I can do so no longer. Hope this helps.
