I just found out that the MSAR has false stats. The required classes from one school were not listed as "REQUIRED" in that damn book. Now that I found out 1 day after I submitted my updated schools, I wanna withdraw from that school and get my $30 bucks back. Is there any way I can do this??? The AAMC does not say anything about this.

No, that's not possible, I'm afraid. Perhaps you might consider going forward with the application anyways, and if you're accepted, completing the required courses the last semester of your senior year?

You wouldn't happen to be speaking of a certain school in the state of Illinois, would you?

Yeah, I would say if it was a school that you like for one reason or another and you've already paid the fee, go ahead and apply. If you get accepted and decide that you want to go there, you can always just take the course you would be missing before you matriculate (ie the last semester, or even a summer course before you start).

The schools will never refund an application fee for any reason, so since you already payed don't withdrawl. Just out of curiosity, what was the required class? Most schools are pretty standard, with english, biochem, and math requirements swinging around a bit.

Do the rest of us a favor and tell us which school and what the required class is so that we all know.

I assume you're talking to the OP, but I know that UIC requires an "upper division biology", but that requirement was not listed in the MSAR (at least not in the 2006-2007 one I have.)

DING DING DING. You are correct. It's the UIC. they require 2-3 Behavorial science classes and I don't see any of that listed on the MSAR. I have tons of GE classes, lots of upper division bio classes. However, I did not take any of those classes that fall into that category, and I already graduated.

So you all think I should finish their secondary anyways? It's another $70-80 for almost nothing. Arrr, I wanna sue the MSAR so bad right now😛

Aren't behavioral sciences like sociology and/or psychology? If so, didn't you have to take at least 2-3 of these classes in order to graduate?

Yes and No. Different schools have different requirements.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the behavioral science part too. So they basically left out that AND the upper level bio thing. You have the upper bio classes (I don't), and I have the behavioral science classes (I'm assuming you don't), so both of us sort of overlooked the other requirement. Either way, that sucks.

I didn't bother filling out the secondary. I have no ties to Illinois and would really only go there if I didn't get into any of my top choices.

I am short one behavioral class for UIC as well, but really like the school so I applied anyways. I have already graduated, but figure if I am lucky enough to get an interview with them I will just take an interesting-sounding class during the summer just to be safe...
