Hello everyone, so I finally decided what school I will be attending. I am proud to say I will be attending CCOM as a member of Class of 2014!!! How should I inform the other schools I have been accepted to, of my desicion. I would like to send each one of them a nice email withdrawing my application. Should I mention it is because I got into CCOM and because it is near my home? What should I say in the email? Thanks!

The few e-mails that I've sent thus far basically thanked them for the opportunity to visit their school, mentioned how difficult the decision was to withdraw, and mention that you have decided to pursue your education at a school close to home...i also added that if they need any more info from me/a formal withdrawal in writing to not hesitate to ask

i don't think you need to mention the school you got into, all of the schools i've withdrawn from so far just sent me an e-mail back thanking me for letting them know and wishing me good luck with my education....touro-ny asked if i had any information that i would be willing to share on why i chose to withdraw, so i wrote another e-mail back to them

you can essentially write whatever you want, i personally did not include the school i withdrew due to, but i guess that's up to you....hope this helped

Last year I just wrote about 2 sentences:

Thank you for the opportunity to attend your school. I am writing to inform you that I will be withdrawing my application and acceptance.

Thank you.

Honestly they don't care, so make it short and sweet and spend your time celebrating 🙂

nice response

I sent each school a little email telling them that while their school possessed an outstanding program, I have decided to withdrawal my application.

Actually, I do not call it withdrawing my application. . .I like to think of it as sending each school a rejection letter so that they know how it feels too 😛

this is cut and pasted from my outbox:

"To whom it may concern,

Thank you for the offer of admission to your medical school. I will be
matriculating elsewhere and I would like to respectfully decline the
offer.

Sincerely,
Firstname Lastname"

Ha! I want to do this too!

Dear School,

After careful consideration of your program, I have decided to reject your offer of admission. As you know, there are many other excellent medical schools in the country, so please do not take this decision to mean that you are not a qualified medical school. I appreciate your interest in me and wish you the best of luck in filling your class.

Sincerely,

hahaha, I love it! 🙂

Hi All,

Were these rejection letters all written after a deposit was paid?
I'm wondering if students tend to accept offers to DO schools, pay the deposit fee, and then send rejection letters.

(Congrats on the CCOM admissions!)
