Anyone have advice or comments on update letters? Formatting, content, length? I'm assuming they shouldn't be too long or they might not be read, say a half page. Written in business format? Ideas?

Anyone willing to critique a letter? Thanks.

i just sent update letters this wk...just told them my grades this sem...had a publication recently so i told them that...just write it in business letter form and get to the point...chances are they dont have much time and also maybe its the clerk who will update the information to your file so it doesnt have to be anything spectacular...my opening was "My name is ***** and my AMCAS is *****..please update my application at whatever school with this info...

but the whole letter was a page...of course thats with all the spacing and stuff like that..

At what point are you updating? Post-secondary? Post-interview? Have you been waitlisted?

I indicated why I liked the school, gave reasons why I'd be a good fit there, described activities that I'd been involved with since my AMCAS application.
