How valuable are case reports?

My PI just offered me a couple case reports. Seeing as these are the chocolate bars of the literature world, how are these viewed by adcoms? Obviously they can't hurt, but will they carry any actual weight? Will the journal IF have any influence on their opinion? The journal we're thinking has an IF of ~13. It's not massive, but it's pretty good. Thanks!

Edit:Should clarify that I think it's awesome and I'm really excited (in case someone thinks I'm not grateful)
