How was your first year of undergrad?

First year was not that bad. Second year was pretty much hell though.

Mine was hellish. I lived in the library(24 hour library) for 4 weeks on about 4 hours of sleep per night. It took me that long to realize I was a ******* for doing that. When I got home for xmas break, I slept about 20+ hours a night waking up for bathroom breaks and food.

I read the question wrong thus I edited it...

My first semester I had 3.00 (all B's.) and second semester I had something which made my Overall Freshman GPA to be 2.85+ something.

I really had struggle adjusting to college life. I never had to study to make any grades in highschool and since I took AP classes my senior year, we took them at a diff. place away from our high school and it was almost like college so I never went to my AP Classes and stuff. In retrospect, I wish I have taken all the AP sciences and stuff. So I was totally not in a good academic mind set when I got to College.

Then partying, coupla activities which took up a lot of time, all 8 o' clock classes I slept through, Eating out often which took even more time and then keep up with a roomate, he fell while rock climbing etc, then no AC all contributed to my dismal freshman year, grade wise.

My first year was great, except my first semester's grades were bad. I joined a sorority and went out all the time....and then second semester I hit the books and still had fun..and I met my boyfriend who I'm still with 3+ years later. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" /> It was definitely difficult academically though, and it took me a whole semester to get used to it.

p.s. this was at Brandeis University in case anyone's wondering

My first 4 years was a blur of alcohol, drugs and sex. GPA 2.0. The last 15 years have been substantially better!!

My first year I was waaay too involved. I took 20 units and took 3 recreation classes (all sword fighting/fencing). I didn't study too much, but I did all my reading and cared a lot. As the years passed on I took less and less units (all culminating with 13 units my last quarter). The only bonus is that I got to graduate a year early. The freshman year is usually the best for most people cause they are free from their parents. Also, its a time when you can get laid a lot. Girls dont have to worry about their overbearing parents and well guys... well we are the same, but you get the idea.
