I'm curious how any intended repeats will be calculated. Does anyone know? It says 0 hours until you put in a last repeat, so do they just go ahead and count the old grade (they don't have the semester hours posted though)? I'm repeating a couple of classes this coming fall, but want to get my application sent out. Let me know if you have any idea! 😕
Thanks!

Surely, someone out there has had to deal with this issue???

I was just going to ask this same question. I'm planning on taking Bio 101 over again. I believe they would average the two grades out....but I'm not sure....please help!!

If you're applying via AACOMAS, you should read the instructions and comments that come with the application (under "Before Applying"...when you click on it you get a new window pop up with general information. You can click on the links on the left-hand side for expanded information).

According to the instructions for calculating your GPA: "...Courses with AACOMAS grades of Pass, Non-pass, and Advanced Placement are not included in GPA calculations. When computing repeated courses, only count the last time you repeated the course. Calculations should be rounded to decimal places..."

In other words, to answer your question, AACOMAS won't average the grades. They only count the last time you took the course.

if you list that you intend to repeat a class and you actually list the new class even with out a grade, they won't count the old one even though they don't have the new grade yet. so you don't have to wait for the new grades to apply, you can just update your application once you get your grades.

Thanks, Public Enemy. That's exactly what I was looking for. I had read through all of the instructions, but didn't know how it would be factored into the GPA, if at all, because the repeated class will be taken in Fall, yet I'm applying now. Thanks for the info. I didn't want to assume that it wouldn't be calculated in the GPA, but hoped it wouldn't be since no credit hours would have appeared with it the first time. OH GEEZ, am I just rambling or what!?! 😳

thanks KHep! I wanted to know the answer to this as well! I have to retake gen chem so I really needed to know. I'm going to repeat at the school I initially took it at, I don't know if that matters at all but whatever. thanks again for asking the question. 😀 👍

if only tcom would do this also. tmdsas calculates everything.

Dido that!

Is it neccessary to repeat that course or stick with a W? Just Curious

It's not necessary. I was speaking of a class that I received a grade in and will take over to improve the original grade. Unless, the W was in a required class, I wouldn't sweat it. 🙂
