How would dental schools go about missing pre-req after they give you interview?

Hi guys,

I do not go on here a lot but currently I am in a difficult situation. I was invited to interview to two schools, UNLV and Midwestern Chicago that requires Biochem as a pre-req. I attempted to take Biochemistry in the fall but due to some unforeseen circumstance, I was forced to withdraw from the class (You can PM me if you want to know more details). So as of right now, I wanted to know if the two dental schools are aware of my missing pre-req when they invited me for interview and how would they go about my missing pre-req after the interview.

School I interviewed at said if you dont have prereq done and you were admitted, they would drop you if classes weren't don't before the deadline.

What is usually the deadline?

Enroll this coming semester if your school offers the class and let the schools know that, although you haven't yet, you will absolutely complete the course before you matriculate.

I interviewed at UNLV an they made it very clear that if you don't have classes done by matriculation they will drop you.

All prerequisite courses and units must be completed by June of the year of you intend to enroll.

Students who fail to satisfy these matriculation requirements or who omit or falsify information required on official admission documents automatically forfeit their seat in the program.

The AZ campus will drop you if you don't have them done. They invite and accept people without all of them completed. There's plenty of time between applying and start date. But their pre-reqs are crucial to surviving first year, so they show interviewees a list of pre-reqs and ask what they have or don't have. All completed > taking > registered to take > can realistically take > no idea there were so many pre-reqs (a.k.a. you just flew to AZ for nothing). If you inquire, ask if CC is acceptable. Seems AZ is more interested in having exposure vs. acing a hard university course.

I applied ASDOH and thanks for the information. I am only missing Biochemistry for most of dental schools, do you think dental schools will accept credits from an online course such as the UNE Biochemistry online course? (http://www.une.edu/com/online/biochemistry/) My current situation really forces me to take an online course, it is a personal matter so I prefer not to explain it here. PM me if you are interested in knowing.

There is no better way than to call and ask to see if they will work with you.
