What would you do if you were working in the ER, and EMS went by with a stretcher patient in bad condition that you cared about, but didn't really know well enough to know that you would be welcome at their bedside? I am wondering what is appropriate under these circumstances? Patient may or may not be conscious.

Give the patient their privacy and let the medical professionals go about the work of caring for them. Do not tell anyone you saw them. Do not in the future ask the person what happened. Certainly do not go to their bedside unless it's part of your job.

Wait you “care about” them but don’t know them?? Lol. Stay away

So, you’re saying that potentially the person on the stretcher is someone that you “somewhat know” (maybe had in a class or worked with at some point or is a “friend of a friend,”), and you wonder if it’s appropriate for you to go visit them?

I would take a selfie #besties and plaster it all over the interwebs for all to like
Don't forget the /s at the end. Some people won't get it 🤣

You must be one of those people that get too quickly attached to someone and then overstep. Leave the patient alone. It would probably freak them out when you’re hovering over their bed staring at them. If they come back into conscious anyway.

This question makes no damn sense.

I would do my job caring for my patients and mind my own damned business.
