What would you do if you were working in the ER, and EMS went by with a stretcher patient in bad condition that you cared about, but didn't really know well enough to know that you would be welcome at their bedside? I am wondering what is appropriate under these circumstances? Patient may or may not be conscious.

Give the patient their privacy and let the medical professionals go about the work of caring for them. Do not tell anyone you saw them. Do not in the future ask the person what happened. Certainly do not go to their bedside unless it's part of your job.

You must be one of those people that get too quickly attached to someone and then overstep. Leave the patient alone. It would probably freak them out when you’re hovering over their bed staring at them. If they come back into conscious anyway.
