I'm in Anatomy now with lab for 4 credits for the semester. Howard just emailed me and said that they suggest I take a 6 credit class to fulfill their anatomy pre-req. How can I get to six credits if my school only offers anatomy and physiology at 4 credit hours a piece?

Trying to get anyone one the phone there is impossible.

I assume they will take my 4 credits and the 6 credits they mention are for quarterly schools not semester length schools.

when i talked to them on the phone they seemed really strict about the 6 hours. They made a lot of changes really late in the game for students to adjust.

They also advised taking an anatomy class elsewhere, can you cross register? as long as you have it by may 1st you should be fine

Yeah but do they want me to take a second anatomy class? Where in an undergrad setting is that class available? There isnt an anatomy II in my university course catalog.

I'm in the anatomy lab for the 4th credit hour now. Would physiology be that second anatomy class that they want me in? That could get me to 8 credits for anatomy + lab and physiology + lab. But who knows if anatomy and physiology equate in their eyes.

I know some CCs offer anatomy 1(general anatomy) and anatomy 2(clinical anatomy). Good luck searching in your area.

My school offers anatomy for pre-med/pre-dental (typical anatomy with cadaver lab) and for students that did well there is advanced anatomy where you actually dissect the cadavers for the regular anatomy students. This is a 2 credit class which makes 6 total anatomy credits. This class is not in the typical catalog, but set up as independent study through the anatomy professors. Is this possibly an option for you? Perhaps they would allow you to assist and give you independent anatomy credits if this class doesn't already exist at your school?

Also, Howard continues to surprise me on all these goofy requirements. Do they just not want to teach anything at dental school?

I took a 3 hour physiology class and it didn't count for me. at least they said they'd think about it.
