As a soon to be HOWARD alumnus I encourage you not to pay attention to the negative comments on this site. Howard is a good school. It has administrative ups and downs but the education recieved is solid. The probabtion status was in the past and the school recieved full accreditation up to 2014.
Your experience at Howard or any pharmacy school is what you make it to be..... IF you believe Howard is not a good school then keep your comments to yourself and DO NOT accept offers for interviews or admission, leave the space for the people who REALLY want to attend this institution. Every year there are over 1500 applicants for about 70 seats, Howard wants the best 70 students who are enthusiastic about their opportunity to get a Pharm.D. from Howard.
Good luck to all, I was in your shoes 4 years ago🙂

Last year (according to pharmcas), Howard had accepted about 120 students, and 70 were enrolled, so i dont think its just 70 bestest. But I don't know if my facts are straight. I am just puttin word out there for hopefuls that they are more than 70 accepted.

I got accepted today. Thanks everybody for your informations and Thanks Howard for giving me a chance. Finally, my dream comes true.

Congratulations to everyone who recently got accepted👍

This maybe a bit early to ask, but does anyone know when financial aid information will be sent out? I already filled out FAFSA back in February. I read last year's thread that it is around May-ish. Is it going to be the same this year?

Thanks.

Have you decided where you're going?

I received my acceptance letter on Monday and I am ecstatic as this was my first choice! 😀

Were any others accepted from the March 10th 11 am interview group?

Yes! Fellow tarheel. Now I'll need to make an important decision..

Trying to factor in transportation into my decision on where to attend. Does anyone have any information on a typical class schedule for Howard? Expect to be on campus every day at 8am?

for the first semester I was basically there 8/9/10am until 4pm every MWF. Tuesdays went until 5 due to physiology lab. thursdays was an early day that ended around 1 or 2pm. The second semester there was more free time but big gaps on some days. Being in dc, classmates and I would head downtown if we didn't need to study on campus. it also helps to have friends who lived nearby so you could unwind if there was a long break. by the third year you were only on campus for integrated therapeutics modules so you could commute in during the day. Its almost impossible to get a parking pass your first year, but alot easier beginning in your second. i think parking was like $250 for the year, but it was well worth it in case classes were cancelled or we were dismissed early.

Are we suppose to get a email from admin when they received your cashier check? I haven't heard back yet...:scared:

I just got the conditional acceptance letter. They're asking me to take the COE program. If I don't pass, I will not be admitted. I just wonder for those who got official acceptance, do you need to take the COE program? hic in those three weeks, I really don't know where to live.

Did the ppl who turn in their deposit get a response? They told me they haven't recieved mine and i sent it on Wednesday of last week =[

I never got an official confirmation from them but I sent it with delivery confirmation. Terry also confirmed they received it.

I wasn't asked to take the program. I'm actually not familiar with the program. What's involved? and do you know why they require you to take it?

I would email her rather than call. If she's in the office, she reponses very fast though.

Yea it is financial aid, we are supposed to receive something in the mail by this week or next from Mr. Kellam!! I suppose we should be on the lookout.

has anyone heard back from March 30th interview? Arg...:xf::xf:

I interviewed March 26th and received my acceptance letter today. I was kind of worried because the acceptance letter was dated April 1st and it states I have until today April 12 (or yesterday) to respond back to them. Since I am in mountain standard time and didn't get my mail until 4:45pm that leaves no room for me to even call to let them know I want my spot--within the time limits I had to respond back to hold my seat. Crazy. I just emailed Terry and I hope that it works out because I don't want them to think I just wasn't interested and was passing up my seat.

Mine was the same issue too. The letter was dated one week before it actually was sent out to us. So by the time I got it, there was only two 2 days left (and weekend). Good thing that I have a friend who lives close to school and be able to drop my deposit there.

You should be fine. The same thing happened to me. The day I received my letter was the same day my deposit was due. I called Terry right away, and she said I was fine. It was too late to send my deposit that day so I sent it the next day.

No and I hope we are going to get that soon so we can start looking for apartment.

If anyone gets any information, please post so others will have an idea what is going on.

Thanks much.

I emailed Terry and she said that they will be giving us the orientation packet early June.

I talked to my friend that goes to the pharmacy school at Howard. She said that last year orientation started Aug 19th and class started around Aug 24th.

What's about FASA ? has anyone done it ?

What is the next step after you have turned in the FAFSA? When do you know how much financial aid you have been awarded? Does anyone know how to apply for living expense loans and where? Also, is the Orientation just one day?

Hey all!
I made this thread! and I was wondering if I was ever gonna get accepted when I interviewed back in November. Yesterday I got a conditional acceptance letter! to the program! I have to take the COE? Does anyone else have too? Please let me know! 🙂
