Hey y'all,

My dream program is attend THE Howard University. I would be thrilled to attend this school. I am currently taking physics at the moment as it is the only prereqs I haven't finished for this school. I have just submitted my applications to OTCAS. I am taking the GRE at the end of November and am going to update this information to OTCAS before the deadline on January 15th. I haven't taken the GRE because I am nervous about the math section. My question is.... is the GRE a huge factor for Howard?

Overall GPA: 3.49
Prereq GPA: 3.8
Observation Hours: 143 hours (hand therapy, ped outpatient, adult outpatient, skilled nursing facility)
Extra currics: Sorority, Multicultural and Diversity Organization Leadership Summit , Multicultural Professional Greek Council , Advisee of Pre-Professional Health Advising Committee , National Council of Negro Women African American Student Union
Volunteer: pediatric rehab facility, baptist church, autism center, organized blood drive.
 
I had the same question about the GRE. There is nothing on the website talking about the GRE. However I can't ever get them on the phone to ask.
 
Hi guys! I’m currently in the MSOT program at Howard so I can try to answer any questions. I think GRE is important, but Howard is good about looking at your overall application. I had about the same stats as you when I applied and got accepted so best of luck!

The best way to reach them is to keep emailing their admissions email. Or stop in if you are anywhere close to the DC area.

I finally did get them on the phone, they said there was no minimum GRE score
 
Did anyone apply to an OTD program too?
 
has anyone received any admissions information yet? (Interviews or acceptances)

SAME! It's good to know that I'm not the only one though. I wonder what their admissions timeline is like since it's already kinda late.

I agree! Howard is my last choice but I still would like to hear something semi soon lol
 
I’m also waiting to hear back! I’ve been emailing them to make sure they have received everything and was told someone would notify me. That was about 3 weeks ago though.
 
Hey everyone, I was just wondering if I was mistaken is the supplemental application joint with OTCAS cause I never filed out an supplemental app and I'm worried now.

Hey! Howard has an additional supplemental application on their website along with a fee that you have to mail in. I’m sure they will still accept it.
 
I received an interview invite this morning for a Skype interview.
 
Same. Does anyone know what the interview questions will be like?
 
Anyone else interviewing tomorrow and totally unprepared?!

My interview is today at 1:00 and I have no idea what they are going to ask. Guess we'll just have to be calm and ready for whatever they ask. Its only a 30 minute interview on Skype so it shouldn't be too bad.

OK I just finished mine! It was with one of the professors. She was super sweet. She asked basic questions like why OT, why Howard, what is OT, share your experience, how will you handle a challenging program and a few others. It wasn't bad at all

I just finished mine as well. It was super laid back and comfortable. She said we should hear back by late February or early March
 
I've never visited this thread before but I just want to say congrats to you guys!!! Reading about acceptances makes me happy! 🙂 Good luck in your OT school journey!!!!
 
Is anyone for sure attending? I hate that they want our decision so soon. I’m overwhelmed lol.

Hello, I just joined SDN and I am so happy I found this forum. I had my interview on 2/7/18 and I am still waiting on a decision to be made, the professor that I interviewed with was Dr. Jessica Alden and she said I should hear from admissions within 1-2 weeks. I am so nervous! For those of you who have already been accepted when did they tell you the deadline to accept or defer is?

Hey congrats on your interview!! I interviewed January 31st and was notified of my acceptance February 12th. They told me I had until the 15th (today) to make my decision. As of now I have accepted the offer!

I’m sure you will hear good news! I had my interview on the 31st and found out I was accepted on the 11th! I will be accepting. I have until the 20th to pay the deposit. Has anyone else gotten a link to pay yet?

They sent me the link and my Student ID this morning, but it’s not working for me right now .
 
Has anyone started looking at housing either? Everything seems so expensive

I’ve started looking, but haven’t had much luck. I’ve even looked at areas in Virginia and the rent is still so expensive.

My account was locked as well yesterday. Last night I received an email saying that my message was being forwarded to technical assistance.

Hey, can you tell me how much the deposit is?
 
I paid my deposit last night. But I see they have extended the date to the 22nd because of all the issues everyone has been having
