What is the 'Order of Merit' list? I've searched around on SDN and haven't found a clear answer.

I was notified in April that I was selected for the HPSP scholarship but nothing has happened since then. I have talked with my recruiter several times since then and there has been no change in my status, he just says that I'm still on this list and is waiting for higher ups for the green light to commission.

My recruiter assures me this is not some kind of 'alternate' list, I've got a scholarship, its just waiting for the paperwork to be done. Thanks for any info.

I'm right with ya. Accepted in April and haven't heard anything since then. Just hoping everything is in order

Army.

I'm not sure if it normally takes this long or if this is a unique situation.

Well it sounds like at least 1 other person is in your same shoes. I know from my experience with the AF that they have done absolutely everything for me and I haven't had to lift a finger. I didn't have to let my school know that the AF was paying for it, the AF started my direct deposits right on time, and my reimbursements always come in about 20 days. It seems a bit odd that you haven't heard ANYTHING from the Army since April. I think I commissioned like 3 weeks after I got accepted, I'm surprised it's taking them so long. Unless they just don't mess with it until it gets closer to school. If your recruiter says everything is fine and they are just waiting, then it sounds like there isn't much you can do. If you know someone on the Army scholarship, you could maybe ask them who they contact when they have questions about their scholarship and think about shooting those same people an e-mail yourself to check up on it. If my experience with the AF is anything like the Army, it will get done. It doesn't benefit them to leave you in the dark so I assume it will get resolved on time.
