Hey all,
I've been researching the HPSP program for sometime now and still haven't found answers to some questions I have. First off, this COT that you have before your first year of med school it is only a little over 4 weeks long. what do you do the other 8 weeks of summer? Do you immediately go to a base or is the rest of the time until medical school yours free? Another question about the COT is whether or not do we get arms training? It wouldn't make sense to me not to have arms training since we will be part of the military. Also i have a sort of generic questions about medical school. Does med school go all year round, like with no summer breaks? Its not that this would bother me I'm Just curious.

Just speaking tp the AF program here-
COT is 4 weeks, the rest of the time is yours. No arms training for docs, that comes later I think. (The Army may go ahead and qualify their HPSPers, I'm not sure though. There is usually a summer break after 1st and 2nd years of school, but you go all year during your clinicals. Hope this helps!
