Does anyone know what is going on in the tower? Usually reimbursements seem to take 3 weeks or so. I've been waiting on a claim since mid-November. I have e-mailed twice (once in mid-January, once this week) to see if maybe they were missing something they needed to process the claim. Both times I got the standard "requests are processed in the order they are received." What gives? I've had this stuff sitting on credit cards for 4 months now!

Something tells me you don't want to know the answer to that question!

Hmmm...I got my last set of reimbursements in approximately 3 weeks. I sent the request at the beginning of January, and received the money pretty quickly. The last time there was a delay with one of my claims, it turned out that a receipt was missing. Fortunately, I had made photocopies and I could send one to them.

But, I wouldn't have figured that out had I not called. So, my advice: call them. The contact for reimbursements is: 301-295-9978. Go here for a full list of phone numbers: http://www.med.navy.mil/sites/navmedmpte/accessions/Pages/ContactUs.aspx

Are you talking about travel claims? I am still waiting on mine from Aug and Sept. 🙁 :xf:

I guess it's a good thing I decided to pursue this further. Apparently they lost my paperwork and "could I please resubmit." 😕

You would think that I have enough active duty time to realize that I should always "trust, but verify."

Yeah, they lost my paperwork to and I'm still out about $1000 in stuff that couldn't be duplicated and finance charges.

That is most unfortunate, but I suppose it is water over the dam now.

For Navy at least, I would strongly recommend submitting all reimbursements via e-mail to [email protected]. It is a group e-mail, so everyone sees the message. You don't have to worry about mailboxes being full or people on leave. It gets into the system from there. Also, you hang on to the originals, so you can submit again and again if needed. Faxes run out of paper and ink or jam or are offline or whatever. Not exceedingly reliable. Snail mail is a nightmare at NNMC and even if you send it certified, receipt requested, someone in the mailroom is signing for it. It can easily get lost from there.

All of these things are true and to be expected given the sheer volume of reimbursements handled. What aggravated me was that I was sent an e-mail saying that my request was received and then on two seperate subsequent occasions when I asked what was going on, I was told that they just hadn't gotten to mine yet. I would have gladly resubbed it if I'd been told it was missing back in early January when I made the first status inquiry. Oh well...it's sorted out now and I learned to really stay on top this stuff now. Fortunately I did have a copy of all the paperwork. Sort of like keeping SERE school completion certificates in three separate locations.😀

This is better than fiction. After resubbing my lost reimbursement claim on 5 Feb. I still hadn't seen anything. So, today I call to see what the status is. Lo and behold, they "seem to have misplaced" my claim again. Not to worry, I should defiitely see a payment on 4 March for my claim submitted the first time in November. 😡
