hSDN Class of 2012

I hope your business goes well! I tutor friends, not really a business... xD

As long as you're not taking the SAT for them (patent pending), then that's great (I will sue you). 🙂

One time is enough times at this station, thank you very much. XD

One time is definitely sufficient for me as well, Conflagration.

Fiesta's are cool, I suppose. (Seemed out of the blue though, DermPa).

How is life for you guys? I am going to be able to finish up classes early, so I am psyched.

Took the SAT once. Took the ACT 5 times. So glad to be done with all that.

Life's pretty good on this end. A little mehhh over the last few days, but otherwise pretty good. I did find out the other day that I'll be driving a truck next year 😀 My grandpa likes to buy broken cars, fix them up, and sell them, so apparently he's going to give me a black Ford Ranger (no idea what year, it's a little older though) he's getting fixed right now to have at college. Anybody know how they/trucks in general do in the snow? I don't know a whole lot about them.

^ A hell of a lot better than a rear wheel drive manual transmission cavalier that's for sure. Not sure if rangers have 4wheel drive, but my friend has one and has never had snow problems.

Weekend Update:

Woo! Back up to a C in calc! Aced the first part of the mid term and plan on doing the same for the second.

Boo! Got a C- on an english paper because I have to miss ~20 mins of English every other day and copied down the topic wrong. Though looking back, describe literary elements in Beowulf makes a lot more sense than describe literary events in Beowulf.

Have and plan to maintain a 100% in bio 1. Aced all 3 quizzes and the first exam looks like it will be cake.

Congrats! AP Chemistry mowed me over with stoichiometry... It's the first quiz, so it could be worse.

Other classes looking fine. =D

Pahaha. I loathed stoichiometry with the passion of a thousand burning suns. I feel your pain, Conflag. And nice job on the calc midterm, INS.

My mission for today is to get caught up on Spanish... I'm taking it online through the local CC, and I forgot this chapter's plethora of online homework activities were due on Thursday. #oops Kicking myself for getting behind, but thankful the prof accepts late submissions!

I actually don't mind stoichiometry. We're doing chemical kinetics right now, and that is driving me up the wall.

We're doing acid-base reactions and activity series right now, which I definitely understand more. XD

Aw, INS.

Just took my SAT today. I cried a little inside when a girl asked the proctor what country we were in and when another guy didn't know most of the cursive letters, so he was asking the proctor how to write cursive, and another girl was asking how to spell words even though we were just copying something in cursive... x/

Conflagration, really? Excuse me a second,

Amuricuh's finest.

Wow. I think that should have warranted them an automatic SAT score of -2400. 😛 How did it go for you?

It was a fairly easy test. It was just the quiet and the people that were being so dumb...

Yes, I'm being completely serious. I wanted to throttle the girl that asked for what country we were testing in, and there was this girl that must've rolled in perfume in the seat in front of me and the two other kids that didn't know their cursive letters/the ability to spell words spelled for you was enough to make my head spin like it was on a centrifuge.

. . . Wooh. That is quite a group of test-takers, a shame it wasn't curved. You could have walked out with a 2402. 😛

Do some schools make everyone take the ACT/SAT? Because ours doesn't, and our overall ACT average is 4 pts higher than national average.

The high school that I went to in Kentucky made an SAT day that I could have taken advantage of if I didn't move again. I took the PSAT there too.

My school doesn't either. Of course, it's a public school... maybe some uber fancy-shmancy private schools do?

Hopefully no one here applied to Vassar College this year:

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/01/29/e...ts-are-mistakenly-told-they-are-accepted.html

Can't imagine what it would feel like if my top-choice told me I was actually denied after being told I was accepted. Like how one girl said it, "I want to major in computer science. And Vassar doesn't even know how to use a computer on the biggest day of our lives."

I would be so livid if that happened to me. I wouldn't be able to articulate how mad I would be.

That would be an indescribably painful experience. Nice one, Vassar.

Holy cow. That would seriously be awful. Epic fail on Vassar's part. Wow.

Does anyone here ski or snowboard? I just got back from a snowboarding trip with my friends. I took a wrong turn and went down 250 feet of a black diamond run. It was going well, until I hit a poorly placed crater, (presumably another poor unfourtunate's landing spot), and went tumbling into the trees. Luckily, three feet of powder softened the landing.

Snowboard. Had a slightly similar experience two years ago, didn't turn and ended up going down a black diamond ski-slope.

I love snowboarding. Just LOVE it. I am considering getting a new board, do you have any tips/recommendations?

I'm by no means an expert, but I've never had a bad experience with a Burton. Pretty fair priced and tons of options.

I was really with Dexter. Then Deb started to have in-the-pants-feelings for Dexter. Where THAT storyline came from, i'll never know.

Dr. Cox is the king.

I haven't seen season six yet (no showtime), but I've liked every season so far, even five, which most people say is the worst.

Then I will shut up. I enjoyed season five as well, and I own all of the DVD's. I wish Lumen had been kept around, but alas.

Do you watch breaking bad? I haven't, but some of my friends say that the newer seasons are better than dexter.

I have not seen Breaking Bad, but I am tempted to pick up season one. Many people have remarked on its quality, and Bryan/Brian Cranston is a fabulous actor.

I'm so behind the learning curve, I'm just starting to watch Scrubs. XD

What season? My favorite is either 4 or 8. Hard to decide, but 'My Last Words' could bring forth tears from stone.

I am officially an eagle scout as of 30 minutes ago with 23 days left to spare.

Congratulations! Do you look totally BA in your uniform?

I did until all my friends quit. Honestly that's why eagle is tough to get.

Yeah, that would make it more difficult. Can you guys solve a Rubik's Cube? I just learned, and I'm having a grand old time with it.

Well, my father taught me. He can solve the 3x3 and 4x4. He is working on the 5x5. I don't think I will attempt higher than the 3x3. Just starts getting scary complex.
