Lol, admittedly ordering out of the back of boy's life wasn't the best plan, but it came free with my x-ray glasses. Totally serious though, ordered some stuff for my senior project from a science supply site, got complementary meteorite shards. I am . . . amused.

I haven't seen it in a while, but John Heeder was on Conan recently which may have something to do with it.
 
Did you see Kristen Bell on Conan? It made me lol. I seriously want to buy season one of House of Lies.

Haha being middle class = strike one. a white kid = strike two. and if you are coming from a big city? = possible strike three.

so I'm at 2.5 strikes, haha. I'm going to transfer to Northwestern if I can afford it. Right now I can't so... community college for a semester or two. who knows, maybe I'll be able to go OOS by then. :xf:

Also I love Napoleon Dynamite and Kristen Bell. Especially KB because of her obsession with sloths.

I think I saw the sloth meltdown before, was it a Lounge topic? It makes me love Kristin Bell more, she freakin rocks in everything, from Veronica Mars to Heroes. Anyhoo. . .
 
A chem major would definitely be interesting. For now I'Il get to do a sort of general science thing. The entire idea of it sounded horrible at first, but now I get a chance to weigh bio vs. chem. vs. physics. If I go to NW then I want to major in Sociology and minor in [insert 1/3 of those sciences here] ... we'll see.

If I go OOS and I can major in Neuroscience, I'm down with that too.

Ugh does anyone else feel like they want to take everything in college? Maybe I'm just insane.

Oooh Veronica Mars used to be my favorite. <3

I think a business major could actually be a really smart idea. Same goes for finance, or anything that could pay off later down the road working for a private practice. or, you know, having your own. 🙂 also physics is supposed to be a gpa killer but (maybe I'm a huge nerd for this) it's just so freakin' interesting even when I'm extremely confused about something.

Oh, I definitely want to go to med school! since I get to do this whole CC thing first though, I'm thinking about taking some kind of career prep class on top of the stuff I need to transfer. medical billing isn't exactly exciting, but I think that wouldn't be a bad job to have while I'm in college. I'm thinking about taking a medical assisting class too. in a perfect world, I could do surgical technology... but those classes apparently aren't meant for transfer path students. I'm trying to convince the school I'm going to start at this summer otherwise. If I could actually do something relating to a paycheck and learning at the same time inside of an ER before I'm 21 well... oui s'il vous plait!

maybe I need to stop wanting to do everything in life. like in general.

As far as wanting to take everything. . . I just indicated interest in courses yesterday and it took me about an hour to decide on gen-eds. I am trying to cover my bases for the 'new' MCAT, so I am taking sociology and probably psych.
If you go to CERN. . . holy frick that would be cool.

Yep. It's a 4S. Turned it on today, and it said that it was damaged and needed to be brought to the Apple store. Still trying to figure out how it could possibly be damaged, since it seems to be in perfect condition, though.
 
I think it depends on the college. Some colleges had it earlier, some have it later. Best to check with your school to make sure.

And, oddly enough, my phone decided to fix itself and is now back up and working. Weird.

I have a 4s as well, and I am also a rather accident prone individual so my dad did get the insurance for me. It's a pretty sturdy phone, not prone to randomly going on the fritz as far as I have experienced, but like anything else it isn't completely without fault. The insurance would probably be a good thing to have if you have the extra $$, just in case. 🙂

I have a Blackberry as well, but want to get an iPhone 5 when it arrives.
I like having insurance on my phone, I seem to be really rough on screens/keys.

Probably not. It works completely fine now, so I'd rather not go through the trouble. Think the internet had an issue, and that is what caused the problem. Now that it's fixed, there's really nothing to do about it.
 
Amazing. One of my friends has an 'indestructable' phone. We used it as a hockey puck, it still works.
I am inches away from finishing the FAFSA as well, but I have to wait until the rest of our tax info arrives. Ugh.

:laugh: I am not nearly as brave as you people. I have had a phone get accidentally run over by a car though. I was carrying a bunch of stuff out to a car, got in the car, didn't realize my purse had fallen out of my arms as I did so, and then as we started to drive away we, well, hit an unexpected bump. The screen was shot and it had chapstick all over it, but amazingly it still worked 😀
 
Wow, that's quite a story Cephal0pod. How many phones have you guys owned? I think i'm up to 5-6.
 
7, including my current phone 😳 First one was stolen, the second was the one that got run over, the third was old and just eventually stopped working, my fourth was a pink Motorolla Razr back when they were all the rage :laugh:, my fifth was an LG chocolate touch that served me well for 1.5 years and then the touch screen randomly went kaput, and I had my sister's old phone for several months until I could upgrade to my current iphone. Cell phones and I have had a long, complicated history. 😳

I had a moment like that today too. I was at a hockey game and they played the Dr. Cox 'Wrong' song after a bogus call. Classic.
 
So I have a question... What is the hardest subject for you? Mine is writing, I'm really good at scientific writing, but I suck at characterization and lit elements. Symbolism-yuck. I wanna get better though, which is why I'm taking AP English. History would be second, because I'm not a fan.
 
currently deciding between stony brook and nyu poly. waiting for my acceptance to poly and then ima go check both out.

both have their perks.

either way i plan on transferring to better premed program after my first year.

INS: I would say Geography, because I perform poorly on map studies. I don't care where Gibralter is.
 
Math is probably my weakest link. I can do it, I just have to work harder at it than any other subject. I was quite thankful to be done with calc 1. 😛 Literature I actually somewhat enjoy, I've always been a huge reader and a fan of creative writing type stuff. I must admit, though, I do tire of all the literary device names sometimes haha.

I also am pretty much failtacular at geography. 😀 One of my dreams is to be on Jeopardy someday, and I always joke that if they have a category called like Remote Rivers of the World I'm gonna be screwed. :laugh:
 
There seems to be a trend with Geography. I hate it as well, and scrubs made fun of it also.
 
I think being on Jeopardy would be awesome. I definitely want to enter the college tournament. I always do well in math classes, but it does not come naturally.

Same! I was actually going to try to enter the teen tournament, but my birthday fell just a few months past the cut off. #lamesauce Fingers crossed for the college tourney! It'd be funny if we both ended up on it haha.

In other random news, I've had various Adele songs stuck in my head for most of the day. What/who do you guys like to listen to? In addition to Adele I've been on a Coldplay and The Civil Wars kick lately.
