HSPS Scholarship for Podiatry

Hey Guys,

Recently reached out to the USAF and US Navy regarding the HSPS Scholarship. They said that they both had scholarships for podiatry last year and will find out what they have this year around April. I'm just curious if anyone has considered this option or gone through the process recently. I've read the a lot of the post on this but most are geared for MD/DO. I want to get a Pods prospective and timeline! If anyone has any info please don't hesitate to reach out.

This is hearsay, but a year or two ago there was a guy who was interested, but was eventually told that they weren't offering them to podiatry for that year. Coincidentally, he later dropped of school so I guess its for the best he didn't make any big commitments...

I applied for this scholarship in 2011 for a 2012 start. They do exist but close fast. I eventually did not go it because it just made more sense for me to pay the tuition myself.

Large commitment from you though. 2 years of service for every 1 year of scholarship. My advice is to write down the pros, cons, and numbers. At first glance it seems like a deal but 8 years is a long time.
