Hey guys,

Is human anatomy and physiology a required course for dental school? At my school, a one year sequence of classes is involved where people take Bio161A, Bio161B, and Bio 171 + 171Lab.

Bio161A, Bio161B= functional anatomy of the vertebrates, including humans
Bio171=human anatomy and physiology

This one year sequence is usually required for med students. For dental students, do you think Bio161A and 161B is enough?

Thanks for your opinion.

you don't need it, its only recommended. by the way, you can just look at a dental school's website and oddly enough it will say what its requirements are 😀

Look, I want to be a dentist, I really do. But something inside me just won't let me settle for second best. DAMMIT! I'm so sorry. =\

I know Indiana requires anatomy (with lab) as well as physiology; it's always best to check the schools' websites

Second best what? I don't get it.....

and by "I don't get it" I mean "take your paki a$$ and run back to the pre-med forum"

I highly highly highly recommend taking at least anatomy if not both. Tremendous help on a good number of bio questions on the DAT.

Studying anatomy and physiology, well lets just stick to anatomy, with purduephigam is required. 😀

I feel like taking this class just for the heck of it, even though I graduated two years ago. I think it is a useful class for sure. It helps u prepare for gross anatomy and memorizing every little thing.
