Anyone have interviews in the northeast early next week and think they might be canceled because of the hurricane?

I have one at BU. They emailed me saying to watch for emails from them in case it gets cancelled.

I'm in DC and although I don't have any upcoming interviews I'm still nervous for the storm. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you guys- good luck both in travel and in interviews! 🙂

Yes, I got an email asking if I wanted to reschedule or keep the interview. It seemed that it was aimed mostly at people who were going to take a flight in.

Does anybody know when this hurricane will pass CT? Interview is this friday at Uconn...heard that power outages may last for a week.

I'll let you know if they send anything out about it ahead of time 👍

The airlines are apparently preemptively canceling a few thousand flights into/out of the mid-Atlantic and northeast over the next couple days.

Maryland has officially cancelled October 30th interviews.

Anyone have a BU interview tomorrow? They're listed as closed, but I don't know if the interview is still on. It said "the Charles River campus" is closed. I don't think the dental school is included in that. I haven't had an email from them yet, I'll probably have to call in the morning. Good thing I live in the Boston area.

BU is cancelled.

Dear Applicants,

I am emailing you because we just got word that the Boston University Medical Campus will be closed on Monday, October 29, 2012 due to Hurricane Sandy. This means that the interview you have been scheduled for will need to be rescheduled. Please get in touch with our office once open later this week to reschedule for another date in November. If you have any questions or concerns please email me. Be safe if you are in an area that may be affected.

So call in tomorrow to reschedule my interview that was on tuesday. Hopefully they'll have more interview dates. This was their last week!

I interview @ temple on thursday... hopefully everything will be up and running by then:xf:

VCU 10/30 interviews also cancelled. wow what a bummer you guys!! They'll reschedule us though dont worry!

For schools that are filled up on their pre-dec interviews, I wondered when they will schedule the cancelled interviews? Will it be after dec 3rd?

That's what I was wondering. You'd have some pretty upset applicants if that's the case.

I'm guessing most of them will do what they can to fit students in ASAP. Adding a couple extra students to each interview date or adding a couple interviews on a day of the week that they don't normally interview. I guess we'll see come Wednesday (or Thursday, depending when offices start reopening). Some schools may be more flexible than others.

I have the wednesday interview at temple, called, no answer,,,,, so im still flying in on tuesday! fingers

The director of admissions at VCU told me they were definitely going to create an extra date for us BEFORE December 1st which was such a relief! Im sure most schools will do the same

For those of you that have travel plans within the next few days in the north east, keep an eye on your flight status closely. There will undoubtedly be cancellations as many areas in the new england area have been hit pretty hard. This also goes for anyone traveling in the winter time as snow storms pop up pretty quick. Many people choose to fly in the night before their interview, and if there's any delay in your flight, you just may miss the big day. Good luck to everyone, safe travels, and God bless your families and friends who are trying to weather the storm.

+1. Definitely check BEFORE you go to the airport!

Safe travels everybody! Remember that regardless of how it feels now, your safety IS more important than any interview. Yes, even a pre-December interview at your first choice school.

I have an interview scheduled for Wednesday Oct. 31st. I will be flying into DC. As of right now my flights arent cancelled, however I have not heard anything from the school as to whether they will be open on Wednesday. I talked to a friend of mine and she said that the school was closed yesterday and will be closed on Tuesday. Really hope all goes well and that there is minimum damage and casualties from this storm.

I'm interviewing this Thursday at Midwestern il. I'm flying from Virginia, I hope my flight does not get cancelled! I called and spoke with admissions and they said if I my flight gets cancelled due to weather they would only be able to reschedule me for January!

Hey Heston!

if this is really you you know who I am 🙂....GOod luck for your interview....did you hear back from Texas????
