Idk if anyone has been doing the Taus method lately or maybe someone who did it in the past will happen to be checking this board today, but did anyone actually read HY Cell/Molec in full two days before the test? It seems like kind of a waste so as of now I'm just doing first aid and kaplan medessentials cell/molec, but if someone did it and thinks it really helped my mind might could be changed.

I went through HY molecular bio during my first pass, it's a good book but I won't read it again before my exam because most of the important things are in first aid.

I went through it about a month before my test and then a couple days before my test I went back through and read what I had highlighted and notes I had taken. It only took me an hour or two to get through it again.

I was kind of thinking the exact same thing lord jeebus just said about taus method being a little outdated with regards to cell/molec. The molecular section isn't that terrible in First Aid and I definitely didn't think HY had that much more stuff in it when I read it the first time. Ok its settled then, definitely not reading it. ha thanks guys

so.. just to clarify..
i have a copy of HY Cell and Molec Bio 1st edition... is it worth the read?

the chapter on the second messangers is really good and a few others like cell cycle, proto-oncogenes etc. some of it is to much IMO but it really only takes about 90-120 mins to get through if you skip the really out there stuff. Its just a better read than the FA molec and cell chapter at least for me. sticks a little better, to each their own.

i picked up the 1999 version for relatively cheap on half.com, luckily.. then i read it in 4 or 5 hours (and i'm usually a slow reader).. i honestly felt there was very little in there that wasn't in first aid, except for some diseases that i scribbled down.. the info on the mitochondrial Dz stuff helped me get a few right in my questions so far, but that's about it.. oh well, i guess i can sell it to someone else later on since i didn't mark in it 😛
