After a quick google/amazon/etc search I can't seem to find any edition of the "High Yield: Cell and Molecular Biology" that is newer then 1999. Anyone know if there is a newer edition out (that for some reason doesn't show up on any major websites...)? If not, so be it, but isn't '99 a little old for a topic that probably has many major changes/updates since then?

thats the latest edition i have and i just bought it brand new

Well that's the one in the bookstores - I've been through it and it isn't really that helpful, so I'm not sure why people liked it so much. I thought everything was simple in it, and not really more than First Aid/BRS but still not enough to answer some of the really tough molecular bio questions on the NBME... I would go to the library and sit down with it and take notes.

which one is better HY or BRS for the Step 1?

Also which one is better HY or BRS for departmental in-school exams?

Thanks

i am using kaplan for biochem. is kaplan's molecular genetics sufficient or should i use it along with HY Molecular Bio?
